We have brother sewingmachines here aswell. Many sewingmachineshops sell them, but you will probably found them more expensive then what you are used to from back home.
Sweden is an expensive country when it comes to sewingmashines and many of us here has bought our machines from England insted.
Here is a good seller if you want to compare prices.

To find a machine well under 1000kr, thatīs not easy.
Maybe if you find a seller who also sell used machines you might be lucky and find one.
Most sellers do but it usually varies alot what they have in stock.
Another tips is to look at different secondhand shops. Today I saw two very old husqvarna machines for only 200kr/each at the "pingstkyrkans" secondhand sell. Both worked fine but they only had straight stitch, otherwise I would have bought one just for fun, but I want one with "sicksack" aswell.
Welcome to sweden.
