"Almost everyone has the desire to transform one’s self, be it into an angel, someone who is more elegant, or even back to the time they were a little girl. With this concept in mind, we created the Metamorphose brand. In order to assist you in your transformation, while not being a slave to the current fashion, we continue to conceive cute EGL fashion

Our brands official name is "manifesteange metamorphose temps de fille". "Manifesteange" means the advent of an angel. "Metamorphose temps de fille" means the time of transformation into a little girl. "

"Lolita as a fashion was actually born in the mid-eighties in Tokyo. It's sort of a "chicken or egg" debate as to whether a designer or an underground fad kicked it off, but the consensus is that lolita fashion arose as a counter response to the kogaru trend -- the bleached-hair, ultra-tanned, uber-trendy fashionistas of Tokyo. Young ladies in Japan have widely believed that elegance is beauty, and the kogaru kind of flew in the face of convention there. In step the lolitas with their fashion that they considered the exact opposite of this loud, brash trend -- just as extreme, only in the other direction. Now, the western influence in lolita fashion (Victorian, Rococco, Edwardian, and whatnot) really only go so far, as much of the first interpretations of this fashion were based on somethng much closer to home: shoujo manga (manga aimed at young girls) and anime. The idea seemed to be to return to something more innocent, ladylike, and natural, but natural got thrown out the window in the Japanese tendency to go very extreme with fashion expressions. The kogaru were the opposite - in-your-face, outwardly sexual, with more than a few becoming involved in prostitution. Then began the kogaru offshoot trends: ganguro and the like. The more extreme kogaru fashion became, the more extreme lolita became, in the other direction. And the more followers it garnered...."

"...It's also worthy to note that the use of the word "Gothic" in this label does not refer to western goth. This is simply a reference to the European architectual style, and what the Japanese consider "Gothic" in fashion is worlds away from western goth. There are subtle Victorian and Edwardian expressions, but the fashions don't have a solid historical look to them, and are in fact much more sleek and infused with the subtleness the Japanese tend to appreciate in beauty..."
